Tura is  relatively large town in Meghalaya is located in the West Garo Hills. The main attraction of this town is the Nokrek National Park which is 12km from the town where various animals such as the leopard, golden cat, wild buffalo, pheasant and many more find habitat. Rongbang Dar Falls and the Siju caves are other attraction of Tura.
Siju Caves also known as 'the cave of bats' are the 3rd largest caves in the Indian Subcontinent. These caves have several chambers forming unexplored mazes.
The Balpakram National Park is a famous national park that is located near the Garo Hills in Meghalaya in India about 3,000 feet above the sea level. The word Balpakram means the 'land of perpetual winds'. The area boasts of a myriad of species of fauna and flora including the rare Lesser Panda, the Indian Bison and the Stag like Serow.  A variety of very rare medicinal herbs, which are locally known as 'dikges', also grow abundantly in Balpakram. A deep gorge can be found in Balpakram, which is popularly compared to the Grand Canyon of the United States of America. Since it is believed that the spirits of the dead live here temporarily before finally embarking on the journey towards their final abode, the gorge is referred to as the 'land of the spirits'.
The Tura Peak is 872m above sea level. There is a reserve forest at this mountain peak along with a tourist bungalow, a cinchona plantation and an observatory. The massive yellow plains of Bangladesh can be seen from this peak. You can also go for a trekking to the top of the Tura Peak.
Pelga Falls is a popular picnic spot that is situated about 7 km away from the Tura Town. The traditionally constructed Garo Bamboo Bridge, built over the Ganol River is another popular tourist site, situated nearby.
Rongbang Dar Waterfall, also known as the Rongbang Dare, is located close to Rombagre in the East Garo Hills District. These are one of the stunning falls in Meghalaya.
The Nokrek National Park is just 2km from the town which was added by UNESCO to its list of Biosphere Reserves. The Nokrek National Park is located close to the National Citrus Gene Sanctuary-cum-Biosphere which has some of the rarest animals and trees species. Red-panda, Asian elephant, tiger, marbled cat and pig-tailed macaque are some of the spices that can be found here.
